Paul earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico – Río Piedras campus and graduated cum laude. During law school, he was a three-year remember of the Law Review and worked as a Law Clerk in a San Juan Employment Law Firm. Before studying law, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in Spanish Literature, a Master of Science in Finance from Walsh College of Business, and a Master of Arts (ABD) in Hispanic Literature from Indiana University. He spent over a decade teaching Spanish language, composition, and culture at the university level. Paul’s Spanish linguistic abilities have been certified at the highest level (DELE – C2) by the Spain’s Ministry of Education. Although he enjoyed the Ivory Tower -in particular avant-garde Latin American Poetry- he left academia to engage in work that has a more binding nature. He now fights daily to protect immigrants’ rights.
Paul is authorized to practice Immigration and Nationality Law in Texas and holds law licenses in Puerto Rico and Florida.
